The Big Apple Spa Experience

Usual workday. Not as stressful, but I think I deserve some time off. Then we got this brochure for Big Apple Spa, a new spa place near the office (the spa is located at Unit 7, Cityland 10 in HV dela Costa St.). Hmmm... a 15-minute back massage? No questions asked. I went for it.

The place is nice and cozy. The staff were friendly and accommodating.  And the menu is quite flexible for persons who are always in a  hurry. They offer 5, 10, 15, 30, 45 and 60 minutes back massage on top of the usual full body massages. Plus there's the add on foot scrub and foot soak (for an additional P100 only).

I opted to get the 15-minute back massage and foot scrub. I was asked to change to boxer shorts for the foot scrub.

Since it has been a long time since my last foot scrub, I really appreciated how good the milk salt scrub felt on my feet.

Back massaged followed. Since this is express massage, the options were mild and moderate strokes. It may not be as hard as i want the massage to be, but it targeted key areas, and that is a big plus! Almost slept thru the massage because of the relief it brought to my back.

And then it was back to reality when the attendant told me that the massage is over. I shelved out around 250 (plus tip), which is relatively small amount to pay for comfort.

I was relieved of stress, yes. But I realized one thing as well. I may  be so tired and stressed at work at times, but there are people who live by everyday by cleansing others' feet or applying pressure on others' backs.

With that thought, i felt lucky, and was relieved some more.
